23 - They/Them

Québec, Canada

Born in 2001 in Québec, Arkil (Artemis Huot) quickly grew a passion for music from parents who greatly appreciate the artform. The Guitar Hero games also played a big role in getting hooked on music, which led to classical guitar lessons at the age of 6 at a local music school. Only a few years later did they learn about electronic music and immediately fell in love with it.

Thus began Arkil's journey into the wild world of electroacoustics. In 2018 they began studying IT administration at the CÉGEP du Vieux-Montréal and gained knowledge on the core concepts of programming. This proved useful in achieving a deeper understanding of electronic music and creating more complex sounds.

After graduating from the CVM in 2022, Arkil enrolled in the Electroacoustics program at Concordia university. This was an opportunity to combine their programming and music knowledge into one and to explore the relationship of sound and electronics in detail.
